We have helped customers from all continents design and implement amazing Qlik Sense mashups like these real project examples. These customized dashboards using HTML, CSS and JavaScript have allowed users to go far beyond the basics offered by Qlik Sense in terms of user experience. A Qlik Sense mashup is nothing more than a web app that brings data and information from one or more native Qlik Sense apps. These web apps allow you to fully customize the entire UI and UX via web languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc. You can build web pages using any web language and connect Qlik Sense dashboards to these web pages. Note that you will always need a QVF file (native to Qlik Sense) which is where the web page will bring data from. On a Qlik Sense Enterprise (on-premises) server you can host this mashup in the Qlik Management Console (QMC) itself. In the Qlik SaaS version you can also use mashups, but you will need a server outside the Qlik Cloud environment to host them. You can embed Qlik Sense in various ways and in various scenarios. For example, you have a portal and a section of that portal should show Qlik Sense data. Using the Qlik Sense APIs and using mashups, you can make the visual identity of the mashup identical to that of your portal, giving your end user a fluid experience. In a simple and straightforward answer: yes, it is worth it. But you need to identify with your audience the real need for this type of customization. In our experience, tactical, strategic and c-level users typically expect Qlik Sense to provide them with beautiful, easy-to-navigate screens. In these cases, the investment in mashups will be easily rewarded through great satisfaction and engagement with the customized dashboard. To become a mashup expert, you will ideally need to master best practices in Dataviz, UI, UX, and web development. We know this is no easy task, so at Cluster we have split the team into two fronts: Information designers (who take care of the whole visual and reading experience of the data) and front-end developers, who bring to life and connect the real data to the screens prototyped by the design team. qlik sense demos
